Blue Angels Weekly Preview 10-24-16

Week 10

The fall season is coming to an end for two more Mount Mary teams. This week, both soccer and volleyball will play their final games of the 2016 season. Meanwhile, the cross country team will run their final race before heading to the NCAA Regionals.

Blue Angels cross country will hit the track at Greenfield Park where Wisconsin Lutheran College will play host to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships. Last season, the Blue Angels finished sixth out of the 11 conference teams. Jori Galles (Jr./Shiocton, Wis.) finished 14th in individual scoring with a 24:42.6 time at the six kilometer race and an All-NACC Award.

Blue Angels soccer (8-7) heads to St. Bonifacius, Minn. in efforts to break the school's single season wins record. MMU will face Crown (1-13-2) in both team's season finale. Last year, Crown defeated the Blue Angels 5-0 and 10-0 in their two game series. With both teams revamping their roster, this season's contest is up for grabs.

In a pair of home games, the Blue Angels volleyball squad will host matches on back-to-back nights at the Bloechl Center. MMU is fresh off their 3-1 win on the road against Silver Lake College (7-21). With some of the best season for serving, Marissa Tun (Jr./Greenfield, Wis.) and Lauren Harris (So./Sheridan, Ill.) both had eight service aces in the match against Silver Lake which is just one ace away from the school's single match record for service aces; set by Payton Hintz on Oct. 1, 2016.

Both home volleyball matches will have live stats and video available at mtmaryathletics.com. Stay tuned for updates on Blue Angels soccer coverage.
