Week 8

The Mount Mary University women's basketball team has their final game of the 2016-17 season this week. With just one game left to go, the Blue Angels (7-12) have a chance to tie the program's single season wins record if they can defeat their final opponent.

After MMU flipped the tables on Andrews University (4-16) last Saturday in seniors Ariel Oviedo and Jess Runge's final Bloechl Center game, the Blue Angels will head to Chicago to take on Illinois Tech (1-18). The fellow Association of Division III Independents program recently knocked the zero off their win column when they defeated Moody Bible (0-9) by a final score of 58-49.

In the Blue Angels recent surge, senior Jess Runge has led her team on both ends of the court. Runge most recently capped off her Bloechl Center career with a 33-point performance, good enough to set her single game record. Along with pulling down seven rebounds, Runge stole the ball five times against the Cardinals as her team got the 69-46 victory.
