MILWAUKEE – This week, the Mount Mary University basketball team continues their season with a pair of home games at the Bloechl Center. On Wednesday, the Blue Angels will take on Marian University (0-2) for an evening contest. Then MMU will host a Saturday showdown against Martin Luther (0-4) at 2:00 pm.

Basketball

The Blue Angels are coming off their first win of the season last Saturday. In game where MMU was down 15, the Blue Angels turned things around in the third quarter and outscored their opponent 31-9. As multiple members from MMU helped turn the game around, three different Blue Angels scored double-digits in the come-from-behind victory against Illinois Tech (0-1).

On Wednesday, the Blue Angels invite Marian University to the Bloechl Center. The Sabres are 0-2 on the young season averaging 47.0 points per game on offense while surrendering 86.0 points per game on defense. The Sabercats struggled in 2018-19 going 2-23 and 2-18 in conference play in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. MMU and Marian have met six times since MMU joined the NCAA in 2009; the Sabres lead the all-time series 5-1.

Then Saturday, the Martin Luther College Knights will travel from New Ulm, Minn. to take on the Blue Angels. The Knights are 0-4 before play this week; MLC has two games scheduled before Saturday. Both road games for the Knights this week will be in Wisconsin, as Martin Luther will take on Holy Family College Friday evening in Manitowoc, Wis.
