MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University basketball team continues their season this week with three games. First, the Blue Angels travel to the Windy City on Wednesday. Then on Saturday the Blue Angels begin the first of a two-game series at home against Central (Iowa).

Before the holiday break, the Blue Angels won their third game in a row. Now sitting at an even 3-3 on the young season, MMU returns from Thanksgiving with a full three games scheduled this week against teams on the better side of ".500".
As a team, the Blue Angels are averaging just under 60 points per game while shooting 32.4 percent from the field and 23.3 percent from outside the three-point line.
Erica Williams (Jr./Bloomington, Ill.) has led MMU from inside the paint with 15.5 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Teammate Rae Grubbs (Sr./Covington, Ind.) has led her team from outside the three-point line hitting an average of 2.2 three-pointers per game and 11.5 points per game.
Wednesday evening, the Blue Angels will take on University of Chicago for MMU's second road trip of the season. The Maroon are 5-2 on the season and have won their last four contests straight. So far this year, five members of Chicago's roster average in double-digit scoring with four of those shooting over 40 percent from the field.
The Blue Angels will host back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday against Central College (Iowa). To begin play this week, the Dutch are also 5-2 but coming off an 88-72 loss to Loras last Tuesday. This season, Central has used their deep roster to full effect. With 18 active members, 10 average double-digit minutes. All the while, the Dutch are shooting an impressive 46.3 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from outside.
