Mount Mary Athletic Training & Sports Medicine

Beginning with the 2023-24 athletic season, Mount Mary University Athletics partnered with Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital to provide full-time Athletic Training services for our student-athletes and Blue Angel community.

Midwest Specialty Orthopedic's team of athletic trainers provide all student-athletes with evaluation, treatment, and preventative and rehabilitation services. They also provide local recommendations for doctors and/or surgeons for all affected parties on an as-needed basis.

All MMU student-athletes have the opportunity for treatment year-round. M.O.S.H. is also present in the Athletic Training Room (Bloechl Center, Room 107) in advance of all Mount Mary home contests. Opposing teams can also use MMU Athletic Training resources on a first-come-first-served basis.  Additionally, pregame training and rehab space in now available on the second level of the Bloechl Center, providing an even more thorough and supportive student athlete experience.

The Mount Mary Athletic Training Room contains amenities including a combination E-Stim & Ultrasound machine, a Hydroculator thermal heating system, foam rollers, wobble boards and therabands, among other numerous treatment tools and remedies.

Mount Mary Athletics also owns two automated external defibrillators (AEDs)—one located at the northeast end of the Bloechl Center Gymnasium and one for portable use. Crutches and splintbags are also provided at home events.

Through the efforts and tools provided, Mount Mary hopes to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all Blue Angel student-athletes, opponents, and the MMU community as a whole.
