Making The Grade

MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University Blue Angels continue to take their work in the classroom with the utmost importance as six MMU student-athletes make the Association of Division III Independents 2015 Spring All-Academic Team.

The AD3I All-Academic Team recognizes sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the sports of women’s and men’s basketball, softball and baseball who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the spring semester.

From Blue Angels basketball, Sarah Amoroso (Fr./Wauwotosa,Wis.) and Abigail Radish (Jr./Muskego,Wis.). It should be noted that academically Amoroso qualifies as sophomore.

On the diamond, the Blue Angels softball team sent 33 percent of their roster to the All-Academic team. Nikki Festge (Jr./Menomonee Falls, Wis.), Katie Edwards (Sr./Mackinaw, Ill.), Michelle Argenzio (Jr./Brookfield, Wis.) and Nicole Weggen (Jr./Menomonee Falls, Wis.) all made the grade and the AD3I All-Academic team.

“With 4 of our 6 sports in the fall, many of our student athletes are taking their tougher courses and/or a fuller classload in their spring semesters." Mount Mary Director of Athletics Marc Heidorf adds, "So to see this many honor students and high GPAs is impressive and a testament to their work ethic and abilities as students.”
