This Week in Blue Angel Athletics

SOFTBALL ENTERS PENULTIMATE WEEK OF SEASON

The Blue Angel softball team added another tally to the win column Saturday, splitting the weekend series with Maranatha Baptist in Watertown. Six Angels recorded at least one hit on the afternoon, as Mount Mary dropped the opener 12-7 before responding with a 14-5 5-inning victory in game two.

The Blue Angels will be back in action with three local matchups at the end of the week—all the results of postponements.

Wednesday, Mount Mary will travel to nearby Wisconsin Lutheran (15-13) before hosting Dominican (19-9) on Thursday, both for 3 p.m. starts. Friday’s rescheduled double-header against Cardinal Stritch (23-18) will be moved earlier in the day to 11:00 a.m. to accommodate for Good Friday services.

CAMPUS CANVAS ACHIEVES GOAL

Mount Mary Athletics participated in the NCAA’s third annual Division III Week by hosting its inaugural Campus Canvas event. Blue Angel student-athletes and staff set up a booth outside the Archway to generate buzz about all our athletic teams have to offer.

Well-over 200 people earned a t-shirt or wristband by registering for email updates or “following” on Twitter or “liking” our Facebook page. For more information on the event, or other events in the future, stay tuned to mtmaryathletics.com.
