Perry Clark joined Mount Mary University as Head Softball Coach in fall of 2017, became Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities in the spring of 2019, and added Head Golf Coach to his role in the fall of 2019. His daily duties include management of all Mount Mary athletic facilities, including MMU’s Bloechl Recreation Center.

The 2022 season was a record setting campaign for the Mount Mary softball team.  The 14 wins by the Blue Angels equaled a modern era program record (since 2009), and the team set a new record for winning percentage in a single season.  The 2023 season was a 10 win campaign for the Blue Angels, marking the two seasons as the winningest two year span in the history of Mount Mary Softball.

Clark accrued much of his coaching experience in the NJCAA ranks, heading the softball program at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Ill. A prolific recruiter, Clark oversaw all aspects of the softball program including facilities maintenance, hosting camps and clinics, travel preparation, budgeting, and pursuing successful fundraising opportunities for WCC softball.

In 20 seasons at the helm, Waubonsee tallied a 516-367 record overall and quickly became a regional powerhouse in the NJCAA ranks. His Chiefs won their first Illinois Skyway Conference Championship in 2007, and eight straight from 2010-17. Clark was named ISC Coach of the Year over that span, as well as ISC Women’s Sports Coach of the Year and NJCAA Region IV Coach of the Year and in 2017—the same season WCC qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. Under his tutelage, Waubonsee earned five Region IV Championship appearances in 19 tournament berths.  Clark's success at Waubonsee was commemorated in 2023 when he was inducted into the Waubonsee College Athletic Hall of Fame.

An active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), Clark served as an NJCAA representative while at WCC, and currently as an NCAA Division III representative at Mount Mary.

Outside of the collegiate ranks, Clark also serves as State Director for Illinois and Wisconsin USSSA Fastpitch Softball and founded the Northern IL Thunder club program where he served as CEO for 24 years.

The Oswego, Ill., native earned his Bachelors in Secondary Education from Western Illinois University and remains active with St. Mary, Mother of God, Catholic Church.
