This matchup will be the only time this season MMU goes up against the same mascot two weeks in a row. These Eagles (0-1) have already been tested by the sixth ranked UW Oshkosh Titans, the Eagles lost 81-53.
With one game under their belts this season, the Eagles lineup has returned a solid core of scorers from a year ago. Leading the way offensively with 19 points while also taking care of the boards pulling in five rebounds is senior Rachel Pope. Teammate Sierra Juan also had a standout performance against the Titans finishing with a 10 point, 11 rebound double-double.
The Blue Angels are coming off their first win of the season, and Becky Onan's (So./Grafton, Wis.) first double-double of the season. A mix of newcomers helped out with the victory against the Emmaus Eagles, transfer Jess Runge (Jr./Freedom, Wis.) controlled the ball and the game late in overtime.
Katie Swofford (Fr./West Allis, Wis.) and Ariel Oviedo (Jr./Shawano, Wis.) scored 19 and 18 points respectively and shot a combined 15-29 from the field.
After giving up 25 turnovers against their rival Alverno, the Blue Angels held themselves in check with 12 turnovers against Emmaus.
