Blue Angels Lose In Rematch Against Storm

MILWAUKEE – The Blue Angels had a hard fought match, but would lose (2-1) against the Crown College Storm.

The contest would be a tale of two halves. The first seemed to be all Crown College offensively, where the Storm would have 11 shots on goal with two sneaking past the goalie, compared to MMU's one shot on goal. The second half would be a wakeup call for the Blue Angels, they would only allow Becky Onan (Fr./Grafton, Wis.) three saves, as the MMU defense would turn it up the pressure. Of the two shots on goal for the Blue Angels only one would get by Hillary Brondsema (Sr./Huron, N.D.).

Offensively the Blue Angels were lead by Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) who would take three of the four shots on goal, and would lob a shot over the goalie's head for the only goal for MMU. Onan would continue to impress with 12 saves on the night.

After a record setting performance from Crown College's Megan Wright (Jr./Newton, Iowa), six goals during the last game between the teams,  the Blue Angels would hold her to just one assist and just two shot on goal. Tiffany Krueger (Jr./Cambridge, Minn.) would get one goal along with Terrin Boozikee (So./Glencoe, Minn.) for the Storm.

Mount Mary University will head to Minneapolis, Minn. to play North Central University. The game at Coon Rapids complex on Sept. 13 will start at 2:00 pm.
