Soaring Offense Gives Blue Angels Win

MILWAUKEE – As autumn approaches, soccer begins the final push towards the end of the season. In today's chilly match, the Blue Angels defeated Lincoln Christian University 6-0. The victory at Mount Mary Field, ended a two game skid for MMU.

In the previous contest against LCU, the Red Lions had difficulties containing the offensive capabilities of Ashley Lehnen (Fr./Sussex, Wis.), in today's match Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) was the Blue Angel that was too tough to slow down.

Before the fans could even settle in, Ristow hit in her first goal after only 43 seconds of game time. She slowed down a bit as she waited until the seven minute mark to hit in her second from a good pass off of Lucy Vue (Fr./Milwaukee, Wis.) making it 2-0 MMU.

After Ristow hit in a pair, Marissa Rechlicz (Fr./West Allis, Wis.) gave a two goal performance a try, hitting one in unassisted at 13 minutes, and just five minutes later Ristow set up Rechlicz for her second goal making it 4-0.

The second half saw Nina Her (Sr./Brown Deer, Wis.) make her goalkeeper debut as she tallied 6 saves in the combined shutout. Offensively the second half went to Ristow, she knocked in two more goals to give Ristow her second four goal performance of the season. It brings her all-time total to 65 and a season mark of 20 goals.

The Blue Angels will now look forward to hosting Robert Morris-Lake County. It will be the first match between the schools this season. The game will again be at Mount Mary Field and is set for Wednesday Oct. 22nd at 3:30 pm.
