MILWAUKEE – The visiting Iowa Wesleyan Tigers defeated the Mount Mary University soccer team by a final score of 6-1 today at Blue Angels Soccer Field. MMU moves to 1-5 on the season, while the Tigers (1-3) corralled their first win of the season.

The Blue Angels grabbed the lead early against the Tigers. After the two teams traded position on the field, Karina Salgado (Sr./Chicago, Ill.) was able to break the 0-0 tie. After the goalkeeper cleared out the ball, the Blue Angels intercepted the pass and created an opening 20 yards out where Salgado bent a deep shot passed the finger tips of the goalkeeper.
