Milwaukee, WI- For a second consecutive match the Mount Mary Blue Angel soccer team played on their home field. And for a second consecutive time, the match was played under rainy conditions. MMU hosted the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist and the Blue Angels came up short of victory by a final score of 6-2.
Sam Reyes and Carolyn Abraham provided some offensive pressure early for Mount Mary, but only the Sabercats were able to score in the first half. Maranatha Baptist tallied three first half goals and led 3-0 at intermission.
The Sabercats would add three goals in the second half, but the Blue Angels provided some offensive punch of their own. Carolyn Abraham scored her 5th goal of the season in the 69th minute. Sam Reyes would then also net a second half goal in the 81st minute.
Brianna Brown was under pressure for much of the contest, as she recorded 23 saves.
The home stand continues for the Blue Angels (1-5-1) on Friday, September 27th. MMU will play another match beginning at 4:30, their opponent will be Grace Christian College, and all coverage can be found on www.mtmaryathletics.com
