Milwaukee, WI- Saturday saw the Mount Mary University soccer team open their home schedule on a picturesque September afternoon. Unfortunately the result would not match the beautiful weather as MMU fell to Principia College by a final score of 2-0.
The match largely played out quite evenly, with the Panthers recording 15 shots and the Blue Angels 13. Shots on goal were similar as well, 9 for Principia and 7 for MMU.
The difference in the contest came on two first half goals by Principia, occuring in the 29th and 37th minute.
Talina Avila recorded two shots on goal for the Blue Angels, and single shots were added by Beatriz Sartorato, Dalexis Huyler, Lydia Omernik, Gabriela Chagas De Siqueira, and Nirella Coelho.
The Blue Angels (0-2) will continue a short homestand when they take the home pitch again on Thursday, September 11th, at 4 pm. They will take on a second consecutive opponent from the SLIAC conference in the Beavers of Blackburn College.
