RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Today at the Geiseman Gymnasium, the Mount Mary University volleyball team lost to host Concordia University Chicago. The Cougars took the match 3-0 by the set scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-9. CUC moves to 16-8 on the season while the Blue Angels are now 0-12.

In the opening frame the Cougars took an early 3-0 lead. The Blue Angels answered back when they were sparked by a kill from junior Lauren Harris (Sheridan, Ill.) and an eventual service ace from the outside hitter which gave MMU a 5-4 lead.

A couple runs from the Cougars flipped the script and gave CUC a 25-13 win for set one. MMU attacked with three team kills and five errors on 25 total attacks to combat CUC's 12 kills and three errors on 28 total attacks.

In the second set, the Cougars led throughout after they garnered a 3-0 lead. A kill from senior Rachel Barker (Milwaukee, Wis.) cut thing to 5-4, but CUC responded with an 11-1 run.

With their most aggressive set of the day, the Blue Angels finished the second with seven team kills and six errors on 28 total attacks.

The Cougars had their most accurate set of the day in the third and final frame. CUC ended with 16 team kills and one error on 32 total attacks.

Leading the Blue Angels offense again, Payton Hintz (Sr./Almond, Wis.) finished with six kills on 23 total attacks and was second on the team with four assists.

Rookie Johnelle Suto (Fr./Enterprise, Ore.) led the Blue Angels with 10 assists. Teammate Marissa Tun (Jr./Greenfield, Wis.) led MMU with 13 of the team's 35 digs.

After tonight the Blue Angels will get ready for their next match against Rockford University (1-20) on Wed. Oct. 11. Live video for the Blue Angels and Regents will be available here for the 7:00 pm start.
