Outside Threat

Outside Threat

MILWAUKEE – Rae Grubbs (Jr./Covington, Ind.) has continued to help her team strive from outside this season. As she continues to help her team in their record-breaking season, Grubbs has earned the next Blue Angels Spotlight Player.

The Blue Angels are near the end of their season, but still have six games on the schedule in the next two weeks. So far the Blue Angels have been able to tie the school’s single season record for wins at eight, and a large part of that success has been the accurate outside shooting for MMU.

Grubbs has been instrumental in that regard this season. A constant threat from outside, Grubbs leads the team with 2.2 made 3-point field goals per game. With her season 3-point shooting percentage at 32.2, Grubbs has been an efficient scoring threat and thus has helped spread out the oppositions’ defenses.

To this point in the season, Grubbs is second on the team in scoring with 9.9 points per game. Grubbs is also just eight made 3-point field goals away from tying the school’s single season record in that category.

Grubbs and the Blue Angels return to action this week with a pair of games. First the Blue Angels will host Robert Morris-Springfield on Thursday evening, then MMU will travel to Wyoming, Mich. to take on Grace Christian on Saturday.
