MILWAUKEE – Jess Runge (Jr./Freedom, Wis.) has been named the next Blue Angels Spotlight Player.

After finishing the 2015-16 basketball season leading the Great South Athletic Conference in steals, Runge continued her outstanding play onto the softball diamond. In the field, Runge has been sharp at the shortstop position. Runge has only one error on the season, while carrying a fielding percentage of .973.

At the plate, Runge has been one of the constants for MMU. In the last week, Runge went 9-of-27 at the plate with nine runs, a triple and two doubles. Currently sporting a .344 batting average, Runge looks to continue her solid hitting as the Blue Angels chase their first ever NCAA postseason conference tournament.
