MILWAUKEE -- Ana Mercado (So./Grafton, Wis.) has been named the Blue Angels Spotlight Player.

Mercado won the first singles match on Sept. 4, which marks the first time in two years a Blue Angel took the first singles match.  Mercado would also help pin down a 7-2 victory over Ripon College Sept. 5, with a big come from behind doubles victory featuring her teammate Shauna Jacobs (Fr./East Troy, Wis.). The victory would start a 3-0 sweep in doubles, and pave the way for the win. The Mount Mary University tennis team has started off (2-0) in dual matches this season.
