MILWAUKEE – Congratulations to Taylor Baumgart (So./Burlington, Wis.) who is the next Mount Mary University Spotlight Player.

This season, the sophomore has had to adjust to a completely new supporting cast for the second straight season. In addition, Baumgart has had to adjust to a new role on the team. Once a high school guard, now she is at 6 feet and playing anywhere the team needs her. As her ball handling skills have helped her in the second half of the season, Baumgart has led her team in the month of January with 3.4 assists per game.

Not only have Baumgart’s guard skills transferred over, but the work on her shot and shot selection also improved in January. She is averaging 9.8 points per game and 35 percent from the floor in the month, which is a notch up from her season's 27 field-goal percentage.

Baumgart and crew are getting ready for a busy stretch as they play 6 games in 12 days. The team is playing their best basketball and match-up well against their upcoming opponents.
