Milwaukee, Wis – The Mount Mary University (MMU) Blue Angels (1-1, 1-9) welcomed another Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent to the Bloechl Center. The Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) Tigers (2-1, 2-12) came out on top, winning all three sets with force.

Lilly Severson (Cottage Grove, Wis.) led in the middle with five total kills.

Ava Fincher (Owensboro, Ky.) secured 14 kills.

Leading the defense was Abigail Manthey (Mukwonago, Wis.) with 12 kills. Manthey also picked up two aces.
What Played Out:
Set one began with Nevenah Dukic (Oak Creek, Wis.) picking up an ace. The Tigers formed numerous back-to-back long runs before a service ace from Gabby Saucedo Salas (Flagstaff, Ariz.) brought the score to 18-15, but Olivet closed strong to take the set 25-16. Saucedo Salas grabbed a big service ace, brought MMU within three, 18-15. Hard attacks and long runs ultimately cost the Blue Angels set one, 25-16.
Set two was all Olivet. They maintained the lead throughout the entire set. Manthey gave the Blue Angels a spark with back-to-back aces to bring the score 14-8, but the Tigers offense continued to answer and secured the second set, 25-12.
The Blue Angels found themselves trailing once again in set three. Rosalinda Palacios (Chicago, Ill.) delivered a service ace, and a chain of powerful kills by Severson brought the Blue Angels a spark. Olivet Nazarene delivered another surge to secure the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.
