Hintz Finalist at ACP

Hintz Finalist at ACP

MILWAUKEE – Even after graduating from Mount Mary University in the spring of 2018, former softball and volleyball letter winner Payton Hintz is representing her school and shedding light on the school's growing softball program. After a celebrated story written and designed by Hintz for MMU's Arches got national attention, Hintz's article is now a finalist for the Associated Collegiate Press Sports Article of the Year.

The article, written and set with photos and graphics produced by Hintz, focuses on last year's new head softball coach at Mount Mary University, Perry Clark. The multi-decade veteran to the college coaching world shares his thoughts and experience on how to build a program from the student-athlete up.

The article also goes over coach Clark's extensive resume and how he and his teams were able to achieve so much over the years. Hintz's detailed interview and story has now propelled the Blue Angels in the same spotlight as NCAA Division I programs.

Why read an article about the said article when you can just see the amazing work for yourself here?

There are more than 2500 entries into the contest each year, and Hintz's article is among the final ten for the Sports Articles category. Check the complete listing here.

It seems the Mount Mary University alumnus is not done representing her school. After Hintz capped off her collegiate softball career with an Association of Division III Independents Player of the Year, she continues to spread the word of Mount Mary in a positive light.
