Volleyball Ventures to Appleton for Lawrence Invite

One week after putting on quite a performance at its home Blue Angel Bash, the MMU volleyball squad looks to stay hot with a four-match slate at Lawrence University Friday and Saturday. The Blue Angels will play Maranatha Baptist and Finlandia Friday before battling MSOE and the host Vikings Saturday evening.

All four matches Mount Mary played last weekend went five sets, making for an exciting home-opening series. The Blue Angels picked up their first season victory on Friday with a riveting 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12 decision over Rockford before nearly knocking off Ripon later that evening. MMU (3-6 overall) hopes to keep the momentum going with this weekend's docket at Lawrence's historic Alexander Gymnasium. Maranatha Baptist (0-8), also a participant at last weekend's Blue Angel Bash, dropped a pair of five-setters itself against Lawrence and Eureka and got swept by Rockford and Ripon.
