AD3I Awards Arce

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Turning in yet another impressive performance last weekend, Katie Arce (Fr./Cypress, Calif.) has been rewarded with the next Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week award.

The rookie third basemen has been in the heart of the Blue Angels (4-12) lineup in every game she has started. Despite the tough spot in the order, Arce has quickly become acclimated to collegiate softball hammering a gaudy .444 batting average, .500 on-base percentage and .583 slugging percentage.

After missing a few games during the spring trip, Arce has battled back to lead the Blue Angels in batting average and on-base percentage while also climbing to sixth in the AD3I in both categories.

To earn this week's AD3I honors, Arce excelled once again. In a doubleheader against North Park University (3-19), Arce went a combined 6-of-7 featuring two RBI-doubles as the Blue Angels split with the Vikings.

Come watch Arce and the Blue Angels this Sat. Apr. 8 at Wisconsin Lutheran Softball Field for the first home games for MMU. AD3I rival Maranatha Baptist University (2-8) will take on the Blue Angels beginning at 12:00 pm. Those who cannot make the trip can follow live stats on mtmaryathletics.com.
