Mount Mary falls at North Central

Mount Mary falls at North Central

Naperville, IL- Coming off of a split at Beloit and sweep of Maranatha Baptist, the Mount Mary softball team took on the Cardinals of North Central College on Friday.  North Central served as inhospitable hosts unfortunately and took both ends of the doubleheader by scores of 8-0 and 15-0.

In game one, Mount Mary could not generate any offense against North Central pitching.  Mary DeFore held tough in the circle for most of the game, but it was not enough as North Central took game one by a final score of 8-0.   Aliana Gutierrez and Katelyn McCallum each had one hit for Mount Mary.

Game two began with MMU going scoreless in the top of the first and North Central plating three runs in the bottom of the inning.  From that point on, North Central continued to pull away.  They took game two by a final of 15-0.  Katelyn McCallum tallied her second hit of the day in game two.

The Blue Angels (4-19) will have six games over the next nine days, beginning with a rematch with the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist on Thursday, April 18th.  The doubleheader in Watertown, Wisconsin, will be played at 3 and 5 pm.  All coverage of Mount Mary softball can be found here on www.mtmaryathletics.com
