Lakeland holds down Blue Angels

Plymouth, WI- Heading into Friday's doubleheader against the Muskies of Lakeland University, the Mount Mary softball team knew they were facing a tall task.  Lakeland came into the day with a record of 26-6 on the season.   The Muskies took both ends of the doubleheader by scores of 15-1 and 11-0.

Game one saw Lakeland win by a 15-1 final.  The Blue Angels scored their run when Kaylee Baker was knocked in by Crystal Peterson on a fielder's choice.  Mary DeFore and Micaela Gonzalez also had hits for Mount Mary.

In game two, Lakeland continued to control the action, winning 11-0.  Gonzalez, DeFore, and Lillian Fay provided hits for Mount Mary.

The Blue Angels (9-26) will play their home finale on Monday, April 29th against the Polars of Crown College.  Once again, the games will be played at Glendale Community Park.  The games will be played at 2 and 4 pm and all live coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
