MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University basketball team has historically played crosstown rival Milwaukee School of Engineering tough at home, but the Raiders proved far too much Monday night at the Bloechl Center in a 104-49 victory.

Senior center Ashley Leverenz (Mauston, Wis.) had her best offensive game this season, posting a team-high 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting and six rebounds to lead the Blue Angels (0-4). Senior Emily Barker (Oconomowoc, Wis.) added 11 points and three rebounds in the loss. Sophomore guard Yolanda Coleman (Wauwatosa, Wis.) showed some nice decision-making, recording a team-high four assists Friday.

A pair of newcomers also stole some solid minutes off the bench for Mount Mary, as senior Katie Wolk (Oshkosh, Wis.) was a perfect 2-for-2 from the floor with a launch from downtown en route to five points. Freshman Andrea Roell (Kingsford, Mich.) also tallied her first points of the season on a lay-in underneath while also tallying an assist.

MSOE (1-2) shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the floor on 40-for-70 shooting, creating easy put-ins by slicing through the MMU defense. The Raiders raced to a 26-7 lead midway through the first half and never looked back.

Four Raiders scored in double-figures, while three more tallied nine points on the night.

The Blue Angels are back in action Tuesday night, culminating a ferocious three-game home stand against North Central University (Minn.). The Rams are 2-2 on the season, most recently defeating Moody Bible 69-55 over the weekend.

Game time for Tuesday is set for 7 p.m.
