Preview Lakeland vs MMU II

MILWAUKEE – The Lakeland University Muskies come into the Bloechl Center tonight at 7:00 pm with a 2-4 record. Although on the wrong side of .500, the Muskies have faced some of the toughest teams in the county in their losses including No. 21 UW-Stevens Point, No. 22 UW-Whitewater, No. 24 Calvin and preseason Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference No. 1 pick Wisconsin Lutheran College.

The Muskies offensive attack is led by Bailey Grayvold who leads the team with 13.5 points per game and her efficiency beyond the 3-point arc leads the NACC in 3-point field goal percentage (.462).

Scoring 58.0 points per game and shooting 37.0 percent from the field, the Muskies offense has similar output to the Blue Angels thus far in the season. The Muskies provide a slight edge in rebounds per game with 36.0. Their defense has also been active all season averaging 11.8 steals per game.

As a team, the Blue Angels are on a three game losing streak which was started by the Muskies on Nov. 18. Scoring 51.5 points per game and shooting 37.1 percent from the field, the Blue Angels look to control the boards (32.5 team rebounds per game) and keep the turnovers to a minimum (28.8 team turnovers per game) as they play the defensively aggressive Muskies.

In her third year starting for the Blue Angels, Becky Onan (Jr./Grafton, Wis.) has been the team's anchor on both sides of the court. Picking up right where she left off in her sophomore season, Onan is averaging 13.3 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.8 steals per game and 1.5 blocks per game. Although just outside the top five of the Association of Division III Independents in scoring, Onan is in the top five for both steals and blocks.

Teammate Brooke Uebersetzig (Fr./Greenwood, Ind.) has also made a big impact on the team in her first four games as a Blue Angel. Uebersetzig is right behind Onan in scoring with 10.3 points per game. Along with scoring, Uebersetzig gets her teammates rolling with 2.5 assists per game while pulling down 3.8 rebounds per game.
