SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Robert Morris University Springfield Eagles (0-9) host the Mount Mary University Blue Angels (1-7) tonight in the Lincoln Land Community College Gymnasium. The two teams will tip off at 6:00 pm; box score, statistics and news releases will be available immediately following the game's conclusion.

After taking the 2015-16 season off, the Springfield Eagles come into tonight's game looking for their first win since January of 2015 as they host the Blue Angels. Searching for their offensive consistency, the Eagles are averaging 29.3 points per game. While allowing 77.0 points per game, the Eagles will focus on limiting their turnovers in order to keep pace in tonight's game.

In their eight game sample, the Blue Angels are averaging 47.9 points per game this season while their opponents are averaging 69.8.

Statistically leading the Blue Angels on both ends of the court, Becky Onan (Jr./Grafton, Wis.) averages 10.8 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game to effectively boost her team each night. The junior forward also sets the tone on defense with 2.1 steals per game and 1.5 blocks per game. That effort on the defnesive end put Onan in the top ten in the Association of Division III Independents for blocks (fifth) and steals (ninth).

While the Blue Angels defense pesters the opposition, the team averages 9.0 steals per game. Seniors Ariel Oviedo (Shawano, Wis.) and Jess Runge (Freedom, Wis.) have averaged 1.9 and 1.5 steals per game respectively to thwart their foes offensive possessions.

After missing four games this season, Runge hits the court tonight with an effective 9.0 points per game. Although third on the team in scoring, Runge's 42.9 field goal percentage leads the Blue Angels in her time on the court this year.

Favored on paper, the Blue Angels go into tonight's contest trying to even out the brief all-time series. The Eagles have the one win in the only contest between the schools, however, that win came in February of 2011.
