Preview MMU vs Robert Morris University Peoria

MILWAUKEE – Today at the Bloechl Center, Mount Mary University will host the Robert Morris University Peoria women's basketball team (3-8). The Blue Angels (3-7) begin the second half of the season with the first ever contest against RMU Peoria.

In the officially recorded games for the Eagles, they received the bulk of their scoring from freshman forward Kayanna Greer and senior guard Karlisa Harris. Greer averages 14.0 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game according to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Harris attacks the paint and averages 14.6 points per game with 2.6 assists per contest for the Eagles. Defensively, Harris swipes 2.2 steals per night for RMU Peoria.

The Blue Angels are 2-1 since the calendar tuned over to 2017. The offense of the Blue Angels has steered them towards victory recently, in fact when MMU scores over 70 points this season, they are 3-0.

Becky Onan (Jr./Grafton, Wis.) and Jess Runge (Sr./Freedom, Wis.) lead the offensive charge for Mount Mary this season. Onan averages 13.3 points per contest while also leading her team with 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.

Runge's game has seen a surge in offensive production lately. Against RMU Peoria's sister school RMU Springfield (0-13), Runge officially went 10-of-10 from the field on her way to 24 points. The NCAA high for the senior guard against the Eagles from Springfield relayed into a 10 point, seven assist performance against Silver Lake College (10-7) the very next contest for MMU.

Rae Grubbs (Fr./Covington, Wis.) has also been a big addition to the Blue Angels offense this season. The rookie leads the Blue Angels in both percentage and 3-point field goals made going 11-of-31 from 3-point range. Her 9.3 points per game is third on the Blue Angels.
