Preview Moody Bible vs MMU

MILWAUKEE --   Today at the Bloechl Center, the Mount Mary University women's basketball team will host the Moody Bible Archers (0-7). The Blue Angels are 5-12 on the season with three games left to go. Today's 2:00 pm start will be the first of the two final home games for MMU.

The Archers are searching for their first win of the season. MBI had a two month respite as injuries and misfortune hit their roster in December. Most recently the club dropped their seventh game to Providence University College by a final of 54-34 on February 3rd.

Averaging 37.7 points per game while shooting 28.2 percent from the field, the Archers are still trying to find consistency on offense.

This season the Blue Angels have averaged 53.9 points per contest while shooting 35.0 from the field and 26.9 percent from outside the 3-point line.

That 3-point threat from MMU has been mainly guided by senior guard Jess Runge (Freedom, Wis.) who averages 12.9 points per game as she averages 38.5 percent from the floor. Teammate Rae Grubbs (Fr./Covington, Ind.) may just be picking up the torch in the 3-point shooting department as her recent surge in offense has her averaging 9.2 points per game with her hitting her outside shots at a 28.8 percent clip.

Leading the Blue Angels statistically in multiple categories, Becky Onan (Jr./Grafton, Wis.) is averaging 13.6 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and 1.1 blocks per game. Onan's efforts on defense has her ranked sixth in the Association of Division III Independents in blocks per game and 14th in steals with 1.9 per game.
