Sabres Strike For Victory

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – As the Mount Mary University golf season continues, the Blue Angels hosted Marian University today at Currie Park Golf Course.  The Sabres took the first place finish with a team score of 407.

The Blue Angels lost the dual, but continued to improve on their team score. Another best on the season as MMU puts up a 467 for their new team low. Some great top scores for the Blue Angels on the day. Peyton Davis (Fr./Tracy, Calif.) dropped her best round of the season as she scored a 115 today at Currie.

Michelle Argenzio (Sr./Brookfield, Wis.) led the way again for the Blue Angels. The senior has averaged a 106 score this season. Argenzio dipped below that average again with a 102 score and a third place finish against the Sabres today.

"Today was a new challenge for us, playing 18 holes on back-to-back days and I think we handled it well." Coach Marc Heidorf went on about his improving team, "Michelle was not happy with yesterday's round so to see her come right back out today and knock 11 strokes off her score was great!"

All four of the Sabres who scored for the team had rounds of 105 or better. A very tough card to compete with, the Blue Angels continued to improve regardless of the outcome.

Coach Heidorf commented on the improvements he saw, "Maddy [Ledda] and Peyton [Davis] have put a lot of work this week on their drives so it was great to see them booming off the tees this afternoon."

The Blue Angels will wrap up the fall portion of the season Fri. Sept. 25 against rival Alverno. MMU leads the season series with the Inferno 2-1 in duals. Tee time starts at 12:00 pm.
