Blue Angels Take Second

MILWAUKEE -- Due to an error in scorecard submissions. A recount of yesterday's triangular is being taken. The Blue Angels officially finished second of three at the opening Mount Mary Invite. No MMU scores were changed from the recount, however, Lakeland University takes first in team scoring. Adjusted results are pending.

Jacqlyn Artman (So./Eldorado, Ill.) led the Blue Angels for the second straight round with a score of 98. The second lowest all-time for the program, the lowest coming last week by the hands of Artman. Artman shot a 49 on the front nine including one par. The back nine for Artman meant two more pars and a tournament low for the final nine holes, 49.

In Courtney Furlow's (Jr./Appleton, Wis.) 18-holes she went 65 in the front nine and then turned things around while hitting a 60 in the back. Most notably Furlow had her best hole on No. 4 when she shot for bogey.

Haley Jacquez (So./Oakley, Calif.) finished strong at Currie Park Golf Course. The sophomore struggled with a 75 in her first nine holes, but capped off her day with a 62 in the back nine. Hole 16 saw Jacquez drop a bogey, her lowest hole of the day.

Kaylie Cook (Fr./ Fairborn, Ohio) finished her second round of collegiate golf with a few strong holes. Her best hole on Cook's 153 score round was a four-stroke bogey on the fifth hole.

Following the the first Mount Mary Invite of the season, the Blue Angels will prepare to host Concordia University Wisconsin Thu. Sept. 14 at Currie Park Golf Course. First tee begins at 1:30 pm. Coverage and box scores can be found at mtmaryathletics.com.
