Blue Angels beat Red Devils In Epic Clash

MILWAUKEE – The Blue Angels overcome the Red Devils in a battle that didn't disappoint the namesake.

Mount Mary University hosted Eureka College at Mount Mary Field. The Red Devils took the lead at the 27 minute mark off the foot of Faith Williams (Jr./Omaha, Neb.).  The lead wouldn't last long, as the wind picked up and the temperatures dropped, the Blue Angels day started to warm up offensively as Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) would tie the game 90 seconds later off an assist from Cinthia Covarrubais (Jr./ Milwaukee, Wis.). Ristow would continue to impress as the very next possession, the Blue Angel riffled past the defense and would give Mount Mary the lead on the very next possession.

The second half started off with a quick offensive attack, six minutes into the second half Ristow would setup Covarrubais with goal scoring kick to make it 3-1.  Blue Angels goal keeper Becky Onan (Fr./Cedarburg, Wis.) would come out form the box the first time this year to start her offensive stats, as Onan would get her first NCAA goal from the assist of Nina Her making it 4-1. The final goal would drop with 11 seconds left, as Ristow would speed past the goalie to boot her hat-trick goal and make it 5-1.

Onan would only add 5 saves to her season total, but still leads the Association of Division III Independents with 52 saves. Marissa Rechlicz (Fr./West Allis, Wis.) would get 3 saves in her time at goal.

The Blue Angels look to keep things going against Crown College Sept. 12 with a 7 pm kickoff in St.  Bonifacius, Minn.
