Showdown Wednesday On Mount Mary Field

Showdown Wednesday On Mount Mary Field

It is a tough schedule for the Blue Angels. Following the game on Tuesday, Mount Mary University will have to turn around to prepare for Robert Morris-Lake County the very next day. The Eagles and Blue Angels will square off at Mount Mary Field on Wednesday Oct. 22nd at 3:30 pm.

Although the Blue Angels have hit a mid-season lull, they have had a lot of individual stand out performances. Of note, Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) leads MMU with 16 goals on the season. Despite only having a three year career at Mount Mary University, Ristow will end her services as the Blue Angels all-time leader in goals scored with 61.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Becky Onan (Fr./Grafton, Wis.) leads the Association of Division III Independents in saves with 150. Not only is Onan top in saves, but in saves percentage as well with 82 percent.

Marissa Rechlicz (Fr./West Allis, Wis.) is in fourth place in AD3I saves with 71. Relaying the defense to offense, Rechlicz is also in the top four of AD3I in assists with five on the year.

The Blue Angels are riddled with standout performances by their players, and fans are hoping it will translate to some wins to finish the season. As the all-time series is at 6-4 with RMLC ahead, a Blue Angels win would not only close the gap, but give the team a lot of momentum going into the final three games of the season.

After Wednesday, MMU will get ready to host Andrews University Sunday Oct. 26th at 2:00 pm. The match at Mount Mary Field will feature the second game of this year's series between the teams, the first ending in a hard fought 2-2 tie.
