Klotz Takes Home AD3I Award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents announced that Allison Klotz (Fr./Port Washington, Wis.) is the next AD3I Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Klotz had a number of offensive plays in the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 18.

In the first game of the week, the Blue Angels hosted MacMurray College in a 5-4 overtime shootout loss for MMU. A big contributor to the offensive attack, Klotz was responsible for three of the four goals for Mount Mary on her way to her first collegiate hat-trick.

The accuracy of the young Blue Angel this last week was also something to notice. After scoring her three goals against MacMurray on just four shots, Klotz really made her only shot count again Lakeland. Teammate Karina Salgado (So./Chicago, Ill.) sent Klotz a well-placed pass on the left side as Klotz bent her shot in the net for 2-0 lead against the Muskies.

An incredible four goals in five shots on the week helped pave the way to Klotz receiving her first ever AD3I award, just three weeks into the season. Now tied for fourth in the AD3I in goals scored with five, Klotz will get ready to keep up her offense as the Blue Angels prepare for their next game Sat. Sept. 24 against Finlandia (0-2).
