Stellings Honored By AD3I

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents has chosen Kaeli Stellings (Fr./Beloit, Wis.) to receive the AD3I Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of September. This is the second time the Mount Mary forward has been honored for her work on the pitch as she received an AD3I Player of the Week in mid-September.

In her first month of collegiate play, Stellings knocked in four game winning goals for the Blue Angels. As a definite game changer, Stellings has made seven goals in September which is one goal behind the AD3I scoring leaders.

"Our team is really proud of Kaeli and her accomplishment of AD3I Player of the Month. This is a reflection of how she takes on the responsibility of creating and scoring goals, it gives the team a great lift." Mount Mary University Head Soccer Coach Jon Gulrajani continued, "She displays a great sense around the goal, she strikes the ball well, and most importantly she only needs a few chances in a match to finish. Kaeli has made a great impact as a freshmen she has put the work in training, earned her teammates respect, and really has played a major role in our attack. I look forward to her staying in solid form the remainder of the season."

Stellings and the Blue Angels have continued their offensive strike in October, most recently with a 6-0 win over visiting Andrews University. Stellings was responsible for two of those six goals and is now just one point behind the AD3I leaders in points with 23 on the year; Allison Klotz (24) and Cassie Cavender (24).

The Blue Angels soccer team will head to Hancock, Mich. next to face AD3I rival Finlandia (0-7) on Sat. Oct. 15. Video will be made available courtesy of the Finlandia University Athletic Department, the links to the video will be available at mtmaryathletics.com.
