Klotz Earns Second AD3I POTW

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Following another solid week for the sophomore, Allison Klotz (Port Washington, Wis.) has been announced as the next Association of Division III Independents women's soccer Player of the Week.

Klotz now sits at second in the AD3I in goals with 15 and is third in the association in overall points at 32. This last week, Klotz added two more goals to her totals in MMU's pair of wins against Andrews University (0-5) and Finlandia University (1-9-1).

Following teammate Becky Onan's (Sr./Grafton, Wis.) opening goal against the Cardinals, Klotz cemented the Blue Angels 2-1 win over Andrews University with a goal in the closing minutes of the first half. The forward made each of her three shots on goal count as she stretched out the opposition's goal keeper on her remaining shots.

In MMU's 3-1 win over Finlandia University, Klotz first set teammate Karina Salgado (Jr./Chicago, Ill.) up with a well-placed ball in enemy territory that Salgado ripped into the goal which gave the Blue Angels a 2-0 lead.

Following that, the sophomore received a pass from Tataya Luangphaxayachack (Jr./Milwaukee, Wis.) with just five minutes remaining in the first half. Klotz ran passed her defender and bent a shot into the goal making things 3-0.

Klotz and the Blue Angels return home this week for Senior Day when they host Andrews University. The rematch against the Cardinals is set for Sun. Oct. 22 at Mount Mary Field. Live stats will be made available at mtmaryathletics.com.
