'Jills Put Away Soccer in Second Half

HANCOCK, Mich. – MMU Soccer completed its Labor Day weekend trip to the Upper Peninsula Sunday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Northland College at Finlandia University's McAfee Field.

Leading just 1-0 at the half, Northland (1-0-1) quickly turned up the offensive pressure after the pause, scoring in the 55th, 59th, 68th, 71st, 77th, and 83rd minutes to put the game away.

Sophomore Nyasia Hardy (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider) recorded the lone shot on goal for Mount Mary (0-3), while freshman Ana Ocampo Hernandez (Milwaukee, Wis./Cristo Rey Jesuit) took the first official shot of her collegiate career in Sunday's matchup.

Freshman Brianna Brown (San Diego, Calif./Hoover) secured a season-best 21 saves in goal, bringing her career total to 50 in less than three games played.

MMU will return to Milwaukee next week looking to regroup against crosstown rival Alverno College Wednesday afternoon. Kickoff at Alverno Soccer Field is slated for 4:30 p.m.
