Blue Angels play scoreless draw at Andrews

Berrien Springs, MI- Playing for a second time in less than a week, the soccer teams from Mount Mary and Andrews University once again played a very close match. In the October 2nd match up, only one goal was scored, on Friday in Michigan, there was one less as the teams played to a scoreless draw.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 victory over MMU on October 2nd, Mount Mary had an edge in ball control, shots and shots on goal in that match.  The same was true Friday in Michigan.  MMU recoreded 12 shots on goal to only 7 for Andrews.  The Blue Angels also had the advantage in total shots at 20-11.

Sam Reyes recorded 8 shots on goal but none found the net for MMU.  Making her return after two matches missed due to injury, Dylan Christensen returned to goal for MMU and recorded the clean sheet on the day.  Christensen recorded 5 saves while Andrews keeper Emily Hicks recorded 9.

The Blue Angels (0-9-2) after picking up their second draw of the season (September 11th at Alverno), will stay in the state of Michigan for their next match.  Mount Mary will take on Great Lakes Christian on Sunday, October 9th in Lansing.  That match will begin at 11 am Central time and any live coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
