Milwaukee, WI – The Mount Mary Blue Angels and Lakeland Muskies hooked up Monday at the MMU Soccer Field. Lakeland started early and did not relent in the match, knocking off Mount Mary by a 9-0 final.
The Muskies controlled the match in the first half, netting four goals and outshooting Mount Mary 22-5. The Mount Mary offense could not generate a first half goal, and Lakeland led at the half by a 4-0 margin.
In the match's second half, unfortunately for the Blue Angel side, it was more of the same. Lakeland added five goals and won the match by a 9-0 score. The highlight of the day for Mount Mary was Brianna Brown in net, recording 17 saves, many in acrobatic fashion.
Mount Mary (2-7) will have another home match next up on the schedule. The Blue Angels will host the Cardinals of Andrews University on Sunday, October 1st. The match will begin at 1 pm and all coverage will be available on www.mtmaryathletics.com
