Shut out of Andrews gives Blue Angels fourth win

Shut out of Andrews gives Blue Angels fourth win

Berrien Springs, MI- The Mount Mary soccer team headed to Andrews University for a rematch with the Cardinals on Friday, October 6th.  MMU had previously defeated Andrews 6-0 on Sunday, October 1st.

The Blue Angels once again pitched a shutout, this time knocking off Andrews 1-0.  MMU has now been victorious four times during the 2023 season, the most wins for the program since 2017.

Mount Mary dominated the play for 90 minutes, living on Andrews' side of the field, their only struggle coming due to the fact that only one of the Blue Angels' 36 shots found the back of the net.  The only goal and difference in the match came from Amanda Antonio in the 36th minute, for Antonio it was her third goal on the season.  She was assisted by Ashton Longazel, Longazel's third assist of the 2023 campaign.

The Blue Angels (4-8) have won two of three matches and have tallied the most wins for the program in six seasons.  They will look to continue the momentum as they head to Lansing, Michigan to take on Great Lakes Christian College.  That match will take place on Saturday, October 7th at 12 pm Central time, and all live coverage can be found on www.mtmaryathletics.com
