Blue Angels fight to the finish in season finale

Ripon, WI- The Mount Mary University soccer team headed into Tuesday's season finale at Ripon College having already won the most matches since the 2017 season.  Tuesday's contest against Ripon saw the Blue Angels compete for the entire 90 minutes, but they fell to the Redhawks by a final score of 5-0.

The Blue Angel defense and goalkeeper Brianna Brown held strong in the first half, defending many scoring opportunities and allowing only one Ripon goal.  Coming into the second half trailing 1-0, MMU just could not generate enough offense to end the season with a positive result.  The Ripon side scored 4 times in the second half, to secure the 5-0 final score.

Brianna Brown had 15 saves on the match, her play in net being a highlight of the recent Mount Mary season.

The Blue Angels (4-11) complete a season that was a clear step forward for the program.  Their 4 wins being the most victories since the 2017 season.  The Mount Mary soccer team saw positive development from a strong nucleus of young players which provides great promise for the future.
