MILWAUKEE – Cardinal Stritch asserted its recent dominance over Mount Mary on the volleyball court Thursday, handling the Blue Angels 25-18, 25-13, 25-20 on CSU's Panella Court.
Mount Mary mustered just 21 total kills on the night, compared to Stritch's 38 total put-aways. Eight different Wolves notched a kill and six tallied at least four on the night. CSU also recorded seven total blocks in the sweep, holding MMC to a .025 team hitting percentage overall.
The Blue Angels got seven kills apiece from junior outside Stephanie Hardwick (West Allis, Wis.) and sophomore middle Stephanie Gratz (Sussex, Wis.) while sophomore outside Beth Baxter (Germantown, Wis.) added five.
Mount Mary will finish off its 2012 campaign Saturday at home against Indiana University-Northwest. The 1 pm Bloechl Center matinee will also be Senior Day for the graduating tandem of Chelsie Beeler (Jackson, Wis.) and Kaitlyn Dulmes (Oostburg, Wis.).
