MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University volleyball team is still searching for that first match victory of the season. Unfortunately for the Blue Angels, they will have to keep waiting following Saturday's 25-9, 25-8, 25-17 loss to crosstown rival Alverno.

The Inferno appropriately came out on fire in the first two sets, hitting at a .444 and .357 pace in each respective frame. Mount Mary meanwhile, struggled to get any offense going early on, amassing a total of four kills through the first two sets combined.

The third set was played even through the first 24 points, before three straight Blue Angel miscues pushed Alverno into the lead it would never relinquish.

Junior outside Sarah Wishau (Oak Creek, Wis.) led the Blue Angels with six kills and 16 digs. Freshman setter Phoenix Hulsey (Wauwatosa, Wis.) tallied eight assists and two services aces—both team-highs.

Mount Mary's home slate continues Wednesday as it will host Rockford College at the Bloechl Center. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
