OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents announced the 2013 All-Independent Women's Volleyball teams Tuesday. Mount Mary University placed one player on the All-AD3I First Team, junior Sarah Wishau (Oak Creek, Wis.).

Wishau, the Blue Angels' go-to outside hitter, led the team with 2.21 kills and 4.13 digs per set while tallying 20 service aces and 17 total blocks this season.

"Sarah worked so hard this season and really took hustle to a new level," head coach Kelsey Peterson said. "That really inspired some of the younger teammates to push past their comfort zone on the court. She was very consistent all around this year and improved throughout the season. "

"Sarah also excelled physically and stayed healthy, which was a great relief to me after she had to sit out the majority of last season due to knee and back issues," Peterson said.

This is Wishau's third straight nod from the AD3I, having picked up Second Team honors last season after being named the AD3I Rookie of the Year in 2011.

Maranatha Baptist's senior middle hitter Laci Peterson was named AD3I Player of the Year, while College of New Rochelle freshman setter Indigo Flowers was deemed Rookie of the Year for the 2013 season. Georgia Efthalitides, also of CNR, earned Coach of the Year.

The women's volleyball coaches from the Association of Division III Independents member schools selected the All-Independent Women's Volleyball teams.
