CHICAGO, IL – The Mount Mary Volleyball team traveled to Moody Bible Institute on Thursday to open the 2022 season. After pulling out a close first set, the Blue Angels dominated the Archers in sets two and three for an impressive season opening win.
Following a very close first set, taken by MMU by a score of 26-24, the fans in Chicago may have thought they were in for a night of close volleyball. The Angels had no interest in any more close action however, and MMU dominated the last two sets by scores of 25-4 and 25-11.
The Blue Angels (1-0) will hope to continue their winning ways in the land of Lincoln over the next two days. Mount Mary will participate in the Forester Invite at Lake Forest College. They will face Elmhurst College on September 2nd, followed by matches against Dominican University and the host Foresters on Saturday, September 3rd.
