LAKE FOREST, IL – Seeking to begin the season by winning their first two matches, the Mount Mary Volleyball team took the floor against Elmhurst College in their first match of the Forester Invite at Lake Forest College. However, a 2-0 start was not to be for Mount Mary, as the Blue Jays of Elmhurst swept the Blue Angels in the Friday evening match.
Elmhurst took all three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-16. Statistically, Mount Mary was paced by Brianna Ecker with 8 kills and Ahlyna Cason provided 14 digs.
Mount Mary (1-1) will be back in action at Lake Forest College on Saturday September 3rd. The Blue Angels will face the host Foresters at 9 am and Dominican University at 1 pm. Live stats and video will be available for the match against Lake Forest only.
