Milwaukee, WI- The Mount Mary volleyball team hosted the Comets of Olivet College on Friday evening on the first night of the 2022 MMU Volleyball Invite. Despite a first set victory, MMU could not hold off their opponents from Michigan and fell 3 sets to 1.
The Blue Angels came out very strong and took set one by a score of 25-20. The Comets bounced back to take a tight second set by a 25-23 final. Olivet then took the third by a more decisive score of 25-15.
The fourth set was more Olivet as they took the set by a 25-15 score to clinch the match.
Statistically, Kaitlyn Powers recorded 10 kills and Emma White 17 assists. Ava Ramos was the leader for Mount Mary in digs with 18.
The Blue Angels (8-15) will have two chances to break back into the win column on Saturday. They will face another MIAA opponent, Alma College at 10 am. Then at 2 pm, Mount Mary and Maranatha Baptist will conclude the event with their fourth meeting of the season.
