Milwaukee, WI – There was no shortage of storylines heading into Monday's evening Mount Mary volleyball game against Maranatha Baptist. It was the fifth meeting between the two teams, the final regular season match of the year for MMU, and the Blue Angels last opportunity to play on their home court and build some momentum for this weeks Coast 2 Coast conference tournament.
Maranatha Baptist left Mount Mary very little margin for error as they controlled the match and swept MMU in three sets.
The Blue Angels came out playing well and held a lead for much of set #1. But Maranatha roared back and finished the set strong for a 25-22 win.
Maranatha controlled the second set and held off a Mount Mary rally, the final score of set # 2 was 25-20 in favor of the Sabercats.
In the third set Maranatha looked like the 20-win team that they are, as they finished off MMU by a 25-16 score.
Brianna Ecker had 11 kills, Emma White 11 assists and Ava Ramos paced MMU with 10 digs.
