Featured Blue Angel Student Athlete: Caitlyn Krell

Caitlyn Krell, a setter from Freeport, Illinois, is coming off a fantastic first season for the Mount Mary Volleyball team.   She looks to be prepared for a great second act for the Blue Angels this Fall.

Caitlyn answered some questions for the MMU athletic communication department earlier this week.

Why did you choose Mount Mary?

I chose Mount Mary because of the small tight community and atmosphere. I came from a small high school, along with a smaller community college, so staying with a small school was the right fit for me! I enjoy having one-on-one connections with my professors, and I enjoy the smaller-sized classrooms. Mount Mary also allowed me to continue playing volleyball.

What has been the highlight of your time at MMU?

The highlight of my time at Mount Mary would have to be all of the friendships I have gained. I have gained so many friendships through volleyball, along with my classes!

What are your plans and goals after graduation?

My plans and goals after graduation are to continue with my Masters in Business Administration and go for an emphasis in Healthcare Management. I hope to direct a hospital one day or work on the business side of healthcare.

Why would you tell a prospective student to come to Mount Mary?

I would tell a prospective student to come to Mount Mary because it feels like home. Everyone has been extremely helpful, especially my professors! They don't treat you like you are just a student in a huge lecture hall. They make an effort to help you and guide you if you are willing to ask! Mount Mary also has a really pretty campus with a bunch of stores nearby to keep you busy!
